Long House - A sleek, modern, minimalist home. The translucence of the long house is a two story home inspired by Shinichi Ogawa’s ‘Luminous House’ in Kagawa, Japan and Pierre Chareau’s 1932 ‘Maison de Verre’ in Paris.
Prefab Refuge - Offgrid urban escapePlaced onto an island not much wider than the cabin itself, the Cabin house is a small vacation cottage. Clad in black-stained timber clapboard referencing the traditional black barns that were once a common feature, the somber exterior palette lessens the cabin’s visual impact on its natural environment.
Water House Villa - Life by the LidoThe villa is located on a naturally occurring plateau near a mountain peak in Saint-martin, Switzerland. Outside, locally sourced blue tiles, also used to line the swimming pool, cover the concrete façade on the lover level – with painted timber cladding on the upper levels, referencing typical local chalets.
Snow Lodge - A skiers dreamPerched above the snow powdered Swiss mountains, CSA designed this winter lodge as a series of volumes that sit beside and slightly cascade from each other. The rhomboid volumes sit against the steep slope and together offer 4,200-square-foot of living space
Coach House - The unconventional conversionThe Coach house transforms a traditional 1920s stable structure into a sleek modern dwelling, with the judicious use of contemporary materials and radically reworked massing and internal volumes.
Lake House - Beauty's natural habitatInspired by Paul Rudolph’s 1961 Milam residence, the Lake House enjoys a spectacularly lofty position up on the cliffs at Grimes point, overlooking the Pacific Ocean. CSA designed the Lake House to bring a sense of light and extend the already vast outdoors into the secluded Mountain perched home.
